Tom Milnes, Professional Engineer and CEO of The Milnes Companies, recently attended WEFTEC 2018 in New Orleans, LA. The world’s largest annual water quality conference and technical exhibition is hosted by the Water Environment Federation (WEF) and is designed to promote the latest in water quality education, training and business opportunities. WEF is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the protection of public health and the environment by raising awareness of the impact and value of water. With over 35,000 global members including some of the world’s leading water quality professionals and experts, WEFTEC provides a platform for Water Sector Innovation. More than 1,000 exhibitors display and demonstrate the latest practices, technologies, solutions and regulations in water and waste water engineering and science. The 5-day long event includes full and half day educational workshops, technical presentations, expert speakers, a scavenger hunt, an operator ingenuity challenge and a student design competition that promotes a real-world design experience asking students and young professionals interested in entering the industry to prepare and present a design that helps solve a water quality issue.
